Guidelines
Updated 31 October 2026
itwin.co is a page where an AI answers for you, in your own words. These are the rules for what a twin may be and how people may use one. The terms are the contract. This is the plain version of what gets a page paused or removed.
A twin is of you
- Make a twin of yourself, or of a business you run or may speak for. Not of a friend, a partner, an ex, a celebrity, a character or a brand you do not own.
- No twins of anyone under 18, including your own children. No twins of people who have died. No twins of politicians.
- A public figure can make their own twin like anyone else. Nobody can make one for them. A twin of a real person needs that person at the keyboard.
- Say who you are. The first name on the page is yours. Do not pretend to be someone else, and do not let your twin claim it is human. The page says it is an AI, and that line stays.
- One twin per person. A business gets one of its own.
What you write into it
Your answers are public the moment your page is live. Write what you would say to a stranger who asked.
- No other people's private details. Names with phone numbers, addresses, health, anything they would not want a stranger to read.
- No sexual content. Not in the answers, not on the About page, not in the photos.
- No hate. Nothing that attacks people for who they are.
- No threats, no harassment, no publishing where someone lives, no content aimed at a person.
- No scams and no spam. A business twin may say what it offers and what it costs, as written. It may not sell to people who came to talk.
- Nothing illegal where you are, or where we are.
Talking to a twin
Visitors have rules too.
- Do not try to make a twin say things its owner did not write, or to pull details about other people out of it.
- Do not harass an owner through their twin. The owner can read the chats, and so can we when something is reported.
- Do not use a twin to score, rank or judge its owner, and do not ask it to. It does not do that, and nobody may build that on top of it.
- No scraping, no bots, no bulk chats.
What happens when a rule is broken
Most problems are small, and an email fixes them. When one is not:
- A page can be paused. It goes dark, says so, and the owner can write to us.
- A page can be removed, and the account with it. Impersonation, anything involving a minor, sexual content and harassment are removed without warning.
- Where the law requires it, we hand what we have to the authorities.
Where we can, we say why. You can answer, and we read it.
How to report
Use the Report link at the bottom of any twin, open the report page, or write to hello@itwin.co. No account needed. Say which twin and what is wrong. We look at every report.
